Last night I watched the Netflix documentary My Octopus Teacher. It was filmed by Craig Foster as he records his unusual friendship with an octopus living in a South African kelp forest. As the octopus begins to trust him, she shares the mysteries of her world. It is vibrant and filled with the filmmaker’s understated and deep passionate love for the octopus and her magical environment.
I was immensely grateful to be brought into the kelp forest, to see its extraordinary beauty, and to be truly inspired by Foster’s story. I have a feeling there will be more cephalopod and pajama shark designs in my future.
